James Rimmer joined Somerset CCG from Weston Area Health NHS Trust where he spent four years as Chief Executive.
James has previously worked in Somerset, both as a Director of an acute Trust and one of the previous Primary Care Trusts. He has extensive executive level experience and spent the early part of his career working in Primary Care. James has a well-developed network, especially across the south west region.
James has a Masters in Evidenced-Based Health Care from the University of Oxford and has completed the European Health Leadership Programme at INSEAD.
In his spare time, James is a keen musician, playing the trumpet both in his local Church and gigging with a street band. James is a keen cyclist and is married with a young daughter. James is Trustee of Changing Tunes, a charity that uses music and mentoring to help people lead meaningful lives, free from crime. All of the above keep James fully occupied!
