10 steps to even better public engagement
This one day course introduces how to make sure public engagement takes place at all stages of the commissioning cycle and explores how and why we engage. Course attendees work through the 10 steps that people should follow when undertaking public engagement and signposts to lots of helpful information and resources.
As part of our Communications and Engagement Strategy, we regularly deliver this course in Somerset to ensure that both our staff and staff in our partner organisations have the knowledge and tools to involve the public in their work.

Easy read training
In July 2018 we held easy read training for our staff and staff from partner organisations to make sure we had the skills to make our communications as accessible as possible. Ten colleagues from ourselves and Somerset County Council attended the workshop.
We regularly run Twitter workshops to support our staff to use Twitter as a communication tool with colleagues, other professionals and the public.
We also share information about training opportunities run by other organisations such as NHS England and voluntary and community groups in Somerset in the weekly Engagement Bulletin.
