In recent weeks, demand for testing has risen rapidly across the country, with much of the new demand coming from those without coronavirus symptoms.

Currently, testing for Covid-19 is strictly reserved for any person who displays one or more of the following symptoms:

  • High temperature
  • New and persistent cough
  • Loss of, or a change to taste and/or smell

Any person not displaying these symptoms should not request a test, as doing so could mean somebody with symptoms is unable to receive their essential test in a timely manner.

If you are showing symptoms of Covid-19 you can request a coronavirus test online by clicking here, or call 119.

You cannot book a test via the NHS111 system, or in person at your GP practice, pharmacy or hospital.
